"Mamma Mia!" is a popular Broadway musical based on the songs of ABBA, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It debuted in London in 1999 and has since become a global phenomenon, with productions in various countries and languages. This year, it comes to Trinidad!

Celebrated for its vibrant characters, uplifting story, and the timeless appeal of ABBA's music, the story of "Mamma Mia!" is set on a fictional island and centers around a young woman named Sophie, who is about to be married. She wants her father to walk her down the aisle but doesn't know who he is. After reading her mother Donna's old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. Sophie secretly invites all three to the wedding, believing she will be able to identify her father on sight.

Donna, who owns a hostel on the island, is surprised by the arrival of her three former lovers and becomes conflicted about her past feelings. As the wedding approaches, the relationships between the characters become more complex, leading to revelations, misunderstandings, and reconciliations.

The musical includes a wealth of ABBA hits such as "Dancing Queen," "Knowing Me, Knowing You," "Take a Chance on Me," "Thank You for the Music," "Money, Money, Money," "The Winner Takes It All," "Voulez-Vous," and of course, "Mamma Mia."

"Mamma Mia!" the musical's success also led to a film adaptation in 2008, which further expanded its popularity. Now, you get to see it live and in person, right here in Trinidad!
